OSSUR/GENERATION II

Generation II began in the early 70's by Geordie Taylor, a Canadian orthotist. At that time, most knee braces were manufactured by individual orthotists using very simple hinges and didn't have the ability to follow the normal motions of a healthy knee. As a result, these braces were very uncomfortable.


In 1980, he incorporated Generation II Orthotics as a central manufacturing facility to serve the entire Canadian market. Since then, Generation II Orthotics has grown by granting licenses to manufacture and distribute Generation II braces to facilities throughout the world.
